Wha?!?!

A 17-year-old kid was murdered yesterday in Union Square in broad daylight during a 50-person melee? Yet, that didn't make the front page of any of the city's newspapers (or their websites anyway.) Didn't make CNN. (A dead snake and car thief getting sprayed with gas did.) No one is talking about this? This isn't a drug deal gone bad in Jackson Heights in the of the middle night. It's Union Fucking Square. During Christmas season. A brawl in the middle day. Are you kidding me? Why did I not hear about this until 5:30 p.m. the next day (and only then through a UPI article on Fark)? Shouldn't this be at least as big as the guy who got shot by the cops? I don't understand.

I suppose the silver lining is that my mom will never hear about it and call me in a panic, begging me never to go outside again.

Seriously, Union Square. Unbelievable.
